I have spent most of my life in the Bellevue/Seattle area, living for a while in the Bay Area for undergrad & graduate school. I started CrossFit two years ago at Grey Coast. I was initially intimidated by the idea of CrossFit, but the coaches quickly showed how scaling exercises can make the program accessible to anyone. Starting with Fundamentals and throughout the instruction in each class, the GCCF coaches teach proper form to prevent injury. The community of coaches and athletes at Grey Coast are so encouraging and supportive. Knowing that “I’m not in this alone” has been instrumental in helping me consistently train as I never have before. My fitness level has vastly improved, and the mindset I’ve learned in this realm has benefited other areas in my life as well.
I firmly believe that nutrition is a foundation to health & fitness. I’ve tried different “diets” and have found that intuitive eating of whole foods works well for me. As wife and a mom of two kids, I’ve also seen how changing my own eating habits has a beneficial spillover effect on my entire family. Annie approached me recently about joining her as a nutrition coach at Grey Coast. While I’m new to coaching, I am excited about helping our athletes find a nutrition framework and habits that help them meet their goals.
