I have spent most of my life in the Bellevue/Seattle area, with stints in the Bay Area for college & grad school. I started CrossFit at Grey Coast in 2018. I was initially intimidated by the idea of CrossFit, but the coaches quickly showed how properly scaling movements can make CrossFit accessible to anyone. Starting with CrossFit Fundamentals and throughout the instruction in each class, the Grey Coast coaches taught me proper form, thereby preventing injury. The community of coaches and athletes at Grey Coast are so encouraging and supportive. Knowing that “I’m not in this alone” has been instrumental in helping me consistently train as I never have before. My fitness level has vastly improved, and the mindset I’ve learned in this realm has carried over to other areas in my life as well.

 I firmly believe that nutrition is the foundation for health & fitness. The food we eat powers our body and mind, and the quality and quantity of that food directly impacts how we feel and perform. I’ve tried different “diets” and find that intuitive eating of whole foods works best for me. As wife and a mom of two kids, I’ve also seen how changing my own eating behaviors has a beneficial spillover effect on my entire family.
